Sustainability Initiatives - Operations
- Recycling program implemented office-wide for paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum, glass and printer cartridges
- Use recycled printer/copier paper
- Encourage double-sided printing and electronic documentation whenever possible to reduce paper consumption
- Use of reusable dishes, glasses, cups and silverware in lieu of disposable products for standard operations
- Drinking water provided for staff and visitors through a bottle-less water cooler and enjoyed with reusable glasses and company issued sports bottles
- Implemented programs for the proper disposal of computers, furniture, cell phones, equipment, renovation and construction related materials
- Minimize the negative impacts of shipping by:
- Use of recyclable shipping materials where feasible
- Consolidate deliveries and combine with customer visits
- Utilize electronic communications and electronic transfer of documents including email, fax, PDF’s, and an ftp site.
- Specifying products from within 500 mile radius of delivery location when possible
- Purchase and use of green cleaning products
- Choose locally owned catering companies for office events and meetings
- Compost food and plant waste in company or community gardens
